Sir Paul McCartney has returned to the stage after delaying some of the tour dates due to an illness, and he’s back with a style.
At his show in Albany, New York on Saturday, July 5, the 72-year-old former “Beatles” singer and music icon gave the mic and the spotlight to a 64-year-old fan, John Dann.
Apparently, the couple had stood in front of the stage and held the signs that read “He won’t marry me ’til he meets you” and “I have the ring and I’m 64.”
After the romantic gesture from the music legend, McCartney joked “And they booked us for the wedding.”
This was McCarthey’s first concert since he canceled some of the shows from the current tour in May on doctor’s orders. Several of his concerts have been postponed. Prior to the rescheduling of the June dates, Paul stated that he was actually feeling ok, but doctor’s orders are doctor’s orders.
“I’m sorry but it’s going to be a few more weeks before we get rocking in America again,” he said in a statement posted to his website. “I’m feeling great but taking my docs’ advice to take it easy for just a few more days. Look forward to seeing you all soon.”
“I need to rest up just a bit longer to fully recuperate from the virus that forced the postponement of his recent dates in Japan and Korea.”
Now that he is back, he’s not only hitting the fans with his beautiful songs, he’s hitting some of them with cupid’s arrows as well.
