Nicole Kidman Rumored To Be Having Marriage Troubles With Keith Urban

June 4, 2014

Uh-oh, it looks like there is trouble in paradise. The Australian couple of 6 years is reportedly having marriage issues. The spark for these rumors came when Keith Urban, 46, did not make an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival with his wife Nicole Kidman, also 46.

Nicole appeared at the Festival in support of her upcoming movie, “Grace of Monaco”. The couple has 2 daughters with each other.

What Could be Wrong?

While many rumors about splits between celebs are usually just that, there is always a grain of truth in them that gives the rumors such validity. It would appear that country singer and actress are no different.

Apart from not appearing at the film festival in support of his wife, Keith spends most of his time in America to shoot for American Idol, leaving Kidman at home in Australia to be with the kids.

Add on top of that the fact the actress keeps a very busy schedule, and you begin to see a rift form. Kidman has had her hands full acting and promoting her new film, where she stars as Grace Kelly, the famous Hollywood actress that left her budding career to marry a minor royal.

What’s Going to Happen?

Despite the rumors, Kidman puts up a strong front. “If it were the choice between my family and Keith, and my career, I wouldn’t even bat an eyelid,” said Kidman. “The most important things to me are the love of our relationship and my children.”

As it stands, Kidman seems to think she has a plan. Although he loves his daughters dearly, Keith has reportedly always wanted a son. Which father wouldn’t?

A report from the May 26th issue of National Enquirer suggested that she intends to do just that.

By having a son, Kidman seems to think that that might fill the cracks that may or may not be beginning to form within their marriage. By going through the process of having a baby again, it is suggested that Kidman believes this will bring a return to normalcy.

In theory, that is a good idea. Having a child would emphasize family in a truly obvious way to Keith in the hopes that he will remember just what he married Nicole for in the first place. However, you don’t fix the crumbling foundation of a house by adding on another floor.

Having a baby, while it does bring a certain kind of calm to whatever storm a family may be going through, creates a whole new set of issues. And when that new-baby-bliss eventually wears off, all the problems you had forgotten about somehow make themselves known again.
